KNELLWOOD was opened in 1947 as
Farnborough's memorial to local servicemen and servicewomen who gave their lives
in the Second World War. Priority is given to applications from those
living in the Farnborough area or with relatives in the borough.
The Home is run by a non-profit making charity, which is
called ‘the Farnborough (War Memorial) Housing Society Ltd’. It
is run by a Board of Management with a Manager providing day-to-day
control. It offers a homely atmosphere, comfortable accommodation,
excellent food and a 24-hour care service.
Knellwood is a large Victorian country house with two
newer wings set in a delightful garden with several acres of lawn and
woodland.
Where possible, Residents may bring small items of
furniture and personal effects to place in their accommodation.
